The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is a part of the University Hospital Centre Zagreb as well as the basic teaching facility at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the central orthopaedic institution in Croatia and the reference centre for Orthopaedic Surgery in Croatia as declared by the Ministry of Health in Croatia. The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery is the most important medical, scientific and educational institution in the field of orthopaedics in the Republic of Croatia.
The particular areas of interest of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery are as follows:

arthroplasty of large joints

reconstructive surgery of congenital developmental disorders and posttraumatic states pediatric and adolescent orthopaedics

arthroscopic surgery

spinal surgery

bone tumors

sports traumatology
