The Department of General Clinical Cardiology focuses on the diagnostics, treatment, and follow-up of a wide range of cardiac patients. The Department has 15 beds for elective and emergency admissions. We perform the complete diagnostics and treatment of patients with heart valve diseases, ischemic heart disease, congenital heart diseases and heart failure. We implant heart pacemakers, from single chamber to resynchronization devices (CRTs), and cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs). We are the only Unit in Croatia performing the extraction of pacemaker electrodes.
In patients with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy, if the anatomy is suitable, we perform percutaneous transluminal ablation of myocardial septum.
